More Than 'Just a Lip Gloss'! Try This Blush & Bronzer Hack

More Than 'Just a Lip Gloss'! Try This Blush & Bronzer Hack

In today's economy, the more bang you get for your buck, the better. So, today we're going to let you in on a little secret. Did you know our Liquid Lip Crème and Longwear Lipstick also double as bronzer and blush?

Yep, they're more than just gorgeous lip colours. Because every product in our clean beauty range is safe for sensitive skin, made from gentle ingredients and non-comedogenic (they won't clog your pores), they make the perfect multifunctional product for our clean beauties that prefer liquid and cream cheek products over powder.

Breaking Down Bronzer

Let's start with bronzer, because generally it comes before blush (but you make the rules on that one). If you like a solid cream bronzer, reach for our Longwear Lipstick in the shade Chocolate Sundae.

Apply just below your cheekbones, then around the edge of your hairline on your forehead. Then take our Stippling Foundation Brush and blend it into your skin with a tapping motion until your can't see anything harsh lines. Tapping the product in may take longer than blending it out in circular motions, but it will prevent the bronzer from removing your foundation which can happen with thick, cream products.

If you're new to bronzing, using our Liquid Lip Crème in Almond Brown may be the safer bet while you get familiar with the application process. Place the Liquid Lip Crème in the same spots mentioned above. When it comes to blending, you've got a bit more flexibility. You can use our Stippling Foundation Brush, or if you're more comfortable you can even blend it out using just your fingers by tapping lightly.

Now, It's Time For Blush

For blush, we recommend following the same application techniques as the bronzer, depending on what formula you choose (Stippling Brush for either formula, or just your fingers for Liquid Lip Crème). When it comes to placement, apply your blush just above where you put your bronzer. This will most likely be along the top of your cheekbone and down to the apples of your cheeks. We're going to skip the forehead - that's reserved for bronzer only.

Our favourite Longwear Lipstick shades we use as blush are Pinky Nude and Cherry Kisses. Pinky Nude is a lighter pink, offering a really soft, feminine pop of colour. Cherry Kisses leans more toward a sheer red, giving the effect of natural, flushed cheeks.

As for Liquid Lip Crème, Rosey Mauve and Nude Peach are our go-tos. As the name suggests, Rosey Mauve adds a deep pink hue to your cheeks. It is pigmented, so remember that less is more. Start by applying small, light dots, then bend it out. Assess the result, and repeat the process slowly to build the colour. It's always easier to add more makeup then it is to take it away!

You have a bit more wiggle room with Nude Peach. As a lighter shade that leans toward a nude neutral instead of pink, it tends to blend nicely with most complexions, for an everyday, natural finish.

Do I Need To Set My Blush & Bronzer?

This is completely up to you! With some brands, you may find setting your cream and liquid products is necessary to stop them sliding off your face. However, our range will stay in place whether they're set with powder or not.

If you do want to lock them in, we recommend dusting a light layer of our Sundown Mineral Bronzer over your bronzer, as well as gently tapping in our Mineral Blush in the areas your blush is sitting. This avoids losing any of the colour you worked so hard to create, which can happen when using translucent powder.

Add Your Finishing Touches

Our secret trick is applying the same shade of Longwear Lipstick or Liquid Lip Crème you used as blush onto your lips. This is a simple way to tie your look together, and takes the tough decision of what colour to pick away.
